Jeremias Gold is an abstract artist raised in the Midwest who now resides in the Northern state of Georgia whose life and work are defined by resilience, faith, and an extraordinary relationship with vision.
As a teenager, he was afflicted by a rare eye disease that led to a clinical diagnosis of legal blindness. Determined to reclaim his sight, he traveled to multiple cities across the United States in his early 20’s, seeking answers from leading ophthalmology specialists. Despite exhaustive evaluations, the condition remained undiagnosed, leaving him suspended in uncertainty and limited blurred vision.
Because of the disease — and his inability to see the fullness and accuracy of color — Jeremias was unable to pursue or receive formal education in the arts. Traditional instruction relies heavily on color theory, visual precision, and technical observation, all of which were compromised during his formative years. Yet what might have ended a creative path instead transformed it.
During this period of visual limitation, he turned inward. Unable to fully perceive the world’s palette, he began imagining it and speaking out loud daily that his sight would be regained. He mentally composed paintings in vivid detail, rehearsing them repeatedly in his mind. Over time, he memorized every brushstroke required for a single piece before ever touching canvas — developing a process rooted in internal vision and instinct.
Jeremias proudly shares that his vision was restored in the late year of 2021 — a transformation that unfolded gradually, yet undeniably. What began as subtle improvements soon became undeniable clarity. To this day, he has exams, receipts, and medical forms he had collected over the years, each one a quiet reminder of the struggles he had faced and the purpose that continued to guide his journey forward.
Jeremias now posses an unwavering belief that miracles and magic are real — and that they are granted only through a higher power. He views both his restored creative capacity and his ability to paint as gifts beyond circumstance. Today, his abstract works are not merely visual compositions; they are expressions of perseverance, faith, and unseen depth — born from a life that learned to see long before it could fully see.
Jeremias paints with a mission far greater than himself: to create 1,000 original paintings to empower others to see beyond their own perceived limitations. His work is not only abstract expression — it is living evidence that vision begins within, and that adversity can become the foundation of purpose.
